I’m Anna Devlin and I’ve set up Sunnyside Art Studio to share my love of all things creative with you.
I enjoy turning my hand to anything and everything arts and crafts! I have a love for textiles, creating my own tongue in cheek cross stitches and freehand machine embroideries.
I’ve made cushions for hip hop legends RUN DMC, I’ve been in the top designers to watch in Mix Magazine and had a cross stitch advice column in Fat Lace Magazine. My love of house plants and interior design has led me into Terrarium building so I’m always on the look out for the next interesting vessel I can turn into in to a mini ecosystem, and can often be found at the local dump bartering the price of glass jars!
I want to share my love of being creative with you all, from having that little spark of an idea through to making something you are proud of and gives you joy. We all need some happiness in our lives.
I set up Sunnyside Art Studio after being furloughed and realising that my chosen career was actually fairly soulless and was making me miserable. I was missing out on family time and lacking creativity.
I wanted to be more present for my creative daughter and thought running art clubs would be something we could do together and would enjoy.
Post Covid schools are trying to catch up on missed education and Art has taken a back seat, so I initially wanted to offer a place where kids can come, be creative and learn skills they perhaps can’t elsewhere. When talking to parents and friends I realised that everyone wanted some where to come and be creative so decided to open up the studio to all. Birthday parties, After school Art Club, a catch up with friends, you can do it all at Sunnyside!
Sunnyside is a beautiful log cabin based in the garden of my house. It’s filled with art and craft supplies, plants and curious things that I find inspiring!
Sunnyside Art Studio is based on Stockbridge Road with a side entrance on Hatherley road.
£40pp, lunch, snacks and all materials provided.
Let me host your kids party! Choose from four different options:
Slime Factory - we make a ton of different slimes and they get to keep them all!
Tie Dye - I teach them various techniques then they put them into practice on a supplied t shirt they get to take home.
Teddytastic - make a stuffed toy of choice, design and make its T-shirt, kids take the whole thing home!
Pottery Throwdown - kids get to have a go on the pottery wheel and throw a pot, while this is going on the rest hand build in clay and then glaze. Items have to stay with me for two weeks to dry and be fired in the kiln.
All parties are £30pp max 8.
